Summer is winding down and school commitments, extracurricular activities  and fall events will soon fill up our schedule. Take the time to enjoy these events for a last bit of summer fun!

The Taylor County Expo Center once again welcomes the Invinibull Youth Bull Riders World Finals August 1-4. Watch the largest youth bull riding association in the world with over 300 kids from 4-19 compete to win. The YBR is a nonprofit organization that is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. Event times range from 8 am to 8 pm and cost varies per event. Join the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum at they celebrate the 66th Annual Reunion of the 12th Armored Division Association. The parade starts in downtown Abilene at 10 am and will include a M3 Stuart Light Tank, an M2 Halftrack, a Dodge Weapons Carrier, Ford and Willys Jeeps and more. The museum will be open for free to the public after the parade until 4 pm. Take a peek at an authentic WWII bivouac (a temporary encampment used to shelter soldiers), living history re-enactors utilizing equipment and uniforms that were used during the war. “Legally Blonde, The Musical” dances its way into the Amy Graves Ryan Little Theatre this Thursday thru Sunday. Enjoy Elle Woods as she sings and dances through turmoil to triumph. This cinema classic was brought to the stage in 2007 and flourished with musical hits like “What You Want,” “So Much Better” and “Bend and Snap.” Cost is $30 for dinner and the show and $17 for the show only. Dinner is served at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm Thursday thru Saturday. A show only performance will be at 2 pm Sunday.

The Texas Gun and Knife Show will be at the Abilene Civic Center Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Shop not only for guns and knives, but for unique accessories, fishing equipment, outdoor sports equipment, jewelry and books. Cost is $5 per person.
