Made a resolution to stay in budget this year? Then head on over to the Taylor County Expo Center for the 21st Annual Abilene Spectacular Cutting going on now through the 12th.  The cost is free to see these talented riders and their horses work together to cut an animal away from the herd and keep it away for a certain period of time. Enjoy 2013’s first monthly Artwalk this Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm in downtown Abilene. Each month throughout the year, the Abilene Center for Contemporary Arts awakens downtown with a themed Artwalk, celebrating artisans, musicians and merchants. This month’s theme? EDGE-ucation! Enjoy unique and new to Abilene art forms and music, while exploring all of the shops, museums, galleries and restaurants that will stay open later for the enjoyment of you and yours. The 4th annual “Dancing with the Abilene Stars” will tap dance its way into the Abilene Civic Center Thursday night at 6:30 pm. Tickets and tables have been sold all year, but make a quick call to 325-692-0112  to find out if there is a seat left in this jam packed house to cheer on your favorite Abilene star. All proceeds benefit Hendrick Home for Children so I say vote as many times as your budget allows. Who will you vote for?

Interested in the forts of Texas? Take the short drive to the Buffalo Gap Historic Villiage for the January Chautauqua Learning series this Saturday from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The Texas Gun and Knife Show will be held Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Abilene Civic Center. See the lastest and greatest in guns, knives and more.
