It’s National Travel and Tourism Week!

The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau has been celebrating in BIG ways each day. The theme this year is “Travel Is” and we have been exploring what travel is to Abilene!

Last night we kicked off the week with “Travel Is… Abilene’s 4th Largest Industry.” We heard from some of Abilene’s most vibrant characters about what travel means to them. Take a minute to view the amazing video! The video and community awards were presented at our Kick-Off Night at the Historic Paramount Theatre.

Today was declared “Travel Is… Cultural Pursuits.” The ACVB highlighted 5 of our top 10 attractions and offered a free Round-Up Pass for those who participated in the social media campaign. The Round-Up Pass offers free admission to 6 attractions in Abilene: The 12th Armored Division Museum, The Grace Museum, Frontier Texas!, Buffalo Gap Historic Village, Abilene Zoo, and The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature.

A couple of photos from Monday night’s festivities! Make sure to check Visit, Abilene on Facebook for a full recap at the end of the week.
