Please head to Downtown Abilene tonight to watch our historic downtown come alive with over 75,000 twinkle lights! The trees that line our sidewalks will be decorated with full-time twinkle lights to add to the vibrancy of our revitalized area. Conjointly, since we are the Official Storybook Captial of Texas and all, each one of our beloved Storybook Sculptures will also have new lighting to bring them new life. It’s a must see!

The Staff of the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau is ready to illuminate downtown!

At 645 pm the Bassetti Elementary Choir will take the stage at Minter Park, the Dyess Elementary Choir will belt it out on the Vleta’s lawn and Revolution will string you along in Everman Park!

In addition to these adorable performances, get your face painted at the Elks Arts Center and the corner of Nth 1st and Cypress, across from Everman Park. You can also get your craft on at the Abilene Public Library and grab a balloon art in front of the Grace Museum from Whimsical Celebrations! While your walking around, grab a cotton candy across from Minter Park, then cross the street to visit the table for Abilene Pediatric Dental associates to make take care of any potential cavities from that sweet sugary goodness!  Shop the storybook store at the NCCIL or stop into Texas Star Trading for one of their many must haves!

At 7:30 sharp, gather at one of 3 locations: NCCIL, Everman Park or Minter Part to hear a special announcement from Mayor Archibald and the lighting of downtown! We hope to see you there.

Abilene is truly where you will meet characters of every kind.
