St. Patrick’s Day is one of my most favorite days of the year. As a girl raised by insanely strong Irish women, it’s innate in me to want to die all food green that day and jig from room to room. It just has to be accepted.

This year we’ll be having a little family themed holiday of our own that’s super kid friendly, but for those of you who will be adult-ing this festive holiday, check out these fun activities!

Keep Abilene Beautiful’s #GOGREENABILENE at The MillThe Mill Wine Bar Abilene Texas

Join the Keep Abilene Beautiful team for the first ever Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration and Awards Ceremony. These people work to keep Abilene green year round, the least we can do is support them on St. Patty’s Day, right? The whole event is open to public and drink tickets will be provided to the first 100 people. That’s something we can cheers to! Enjoy green beer, sangria, heavy hors d’oeuvres, cookies and a fun photo booth to capture your memories. Come on and #gogreenabilene!

Barley-Hoppers Drafthouse St. Patrick’s Day PartyBarley Hoppers

This 3rd Annual St. Paddy’s Day event is already legendary. Enjoy two-full days of green pints, Guinness and Murphy’s Irish, while listening to live music from Brian Bell, Andrew Carman and The Trials. Abilene’s newest food truck, The Grub Bus, will also be in attendance, serving authentic and delicious Irish grub. Something tells me potatoes will be involved…carbs. Yum.

St. Pappy’s Day Party
Pappy Slokum 2

We don’t have too much info about this event other than the name which, in all honestly, just makes us want to go as we LOVE puns and play on words and whatnot. Kudos, Pappy. Kudos. Black Cats Blues will perform and BBQ will be served. Oh, also probably awesome beer because that’s what they make.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Taphouse

Taylor County Tap House Mike Rowe

Remember that time Mike Rowe stopped in at the Taphouse? We do! For three whole days the Taphouse is going green! Get your Irish on with them with fantastic Irish food choices and green beer. Also, get $5 shots of Jameson, Powers and Tullamore Dew. I don’t know what any of those things are, but I’ll take one of each just to be safe. The atmosphere at the Taphouse always means you’ll have a good time. These days there will just be a lot more green clothing and possibly mouths from the beer.

Whatever you do, please just play it safe people. Think after you drink! Remember to call a cab or Uber if you’re a bit too green from the festivities. Cheers one for me, guys!
