Spring break is finally here and we couldn’t be more excited! Planning on visiting Abilene

SUP SPRING BREAK!
Paddleboarding and kayaking at the lake! There’s a sandy beach, plenty of shade for picnics, sand volleyball, and room to paddle around in the cove!

SPRING BREAK CAMP
Join friends for fun filled days with activities like sports, games, arts and crafts, a field trip to PrimeTime Family Entertainment Center and more. For children ages 6-13. Hosted by the City of Abilene Recreation Division. Space is limited! Registration online. $65-Per child. Price includes field trip, daily lunch and snacks for the week. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis.

Attend the world’s largest rattlesnake round-up featuring snake handling demonstrations, coin, gun and knife show, and a chili and brisket cook-off. Don’t forget to try deep-fried rattlesnake or enter the rattlesnake eating contest.

CHAUTAUQUA LEARNING SERIES
This month’s presentation: ‘The Five States of Texas’ by Dr. Robert Sledge. This lecture series is based on the Chautauqua movement which began in Chautauqua, New York, in 1875, and spread throughout the rural United States in the following years. It provided educational lectures and entertainment for average Americans before the advent of mass media like radio and television.
