Head to the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature to check our their new exhibit featuring James E. Ransom!

“In the spring of 2017, the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature opened an exhibition featuring vibrant paintings by James E. Ransome in its exhibition, Everyday People: The Art of James E. Ransome.

While a few of the books represented are illustrated in watercolor, Ransome’s primary media exhibited in the gallery is acrylic and oil paints. The vivid colors seen in Ransome’s paintings work in perfect balance with the subject matter of his books. The books featured in this exhibition cover a wide range of subjects but what they all have in common is the celebration of the simple, joyful moments in life. Based on this, the exhibition is divide into three sections: Stories of the Land, People who made History, and Family Ties.”

4. Potters Pizza (opening in March 2017)

3802 Buffalo Gap Road
Abilene, Texas 79605

Potter’s Pizza is exactly that, Henry Potter’s dough and sauce recipe first made in 1991. After building up a small area chain in the 4-corners area he stepped away from the business for a few years.

Fast forward to August 2010. Henry and his son Shane Potter began having conversations about his plans after his senior year of high school. His response, he wanted to learn the pizza business and re-open the old pizza places here in Texas. Henry became excited about the idea and started working on gathering the necessary investors and location etc. to make that dream a reality. On March 3rd 2011 that dream and idea started by Shane’s conversation with his Dad became real and Potter’s Pizza opened its first location in Graham, TX.

Our vision, our passion, is to be the best pizza place in Texas. Our focus is on Service, Quality, and Consistency. In short, “Simply Fresh, Simply Better”! To be the benchmark for full service pizza restaurants; providing an excellent experience to both the customer and team members at all times. We look forward to serving you!

We know this is ‘cheesy’ but make a trip to Abilene to find out for yourself just h0w delicious our pizza truly is!
